Kudzu Culture on the TV!

January 1, 2018January 1, 2018 / Kudzu Culture / Leave a comment

Zev, Justin, and Avram discuss our mutual friend kudzu during an expansive, sprawling, vining conversation on Mountain Steam TV:

Join Kudzu Culture, Urban Forest Alliance, and Montford Neighborhood Association this Sunday, 1-4pm for the latest installment of Community Through Kudzu: Weaving Birdhouses With Kudzu Vines. No registration required, drop by if you’re in the Montford Neighborhood! Meet at Reed Creek Greenway near intersection of Broadway St. & Cauble St. Shredded + dehydrated kudzu root, carefully hand-harvested fresh from the mountains of Western North Carolina: ready to use as an ingredient for your infusions, stews and brews! “Perched alongside Knoxville’s chestnut ridge sits the Museum of Infinite Outcomes, a museum of conservation. Angela Eastman of @flagmountain.studio uses woody kudzu vines, both whole and split, to weave functional baskets. Angela's baskets are practical for use at market or harvest. Check them out at the Kudzu Culture Fair tomorrow, Thursday, December 1, in Mills River, NC! Alyssa Sacora of @thepatchworkunderground has been learning and teaching alongside Kudzu Culture for 5 years. Pictured are papers, 8-point stars, and weavings Alyssa makes from kudzu and other plant materials. As we approach the inaugural Kudzu Culture Fair this Thursday, Dec. 1, in Mills River, NC, we will be sharing images and words from kudzu creatives who will be sharing their work and wisdom on Thursday. Join for Root Harvest Presentation 3 - 5pm, and/or the Kudzu Product and Demo Fair 5 - 7pm. More info. at kudzuculture.net. Curious about kudzu? Join @kudzu_culture and @cooperate.wnc on December 1, from 3 - 7pm, at The Mountain Horticultural Crops Research and Extension Center in Mills River, North Carolina, for the inaugural Kudzu Culture Fair. Why is it important to harvest kudzu blossoms? Greetings, Ambassadors of Kudzu Culture!
