Community Through Kudzu workshop series along Reed Creek Greenway continues on April 29, 1-4pm. Learn how to observe and identify other plant species growing within stands of kudzu. Participants will also learn to identify and remove old-growth crowns, and how utilize various parts of kudzu. Join Kudzu Culture, Urban Forest Alliance, and Montford Neighborhood Association this Sunday, 1-4pm for the latest installment of Community Through Kudzu: Weaving Birdhouses With Kudzu Vines. No registration required, drop by if you’re in the Montford Neighborhood! Meet at Reed Creek Greenway near intersection of Broadway St. & Cauble St. Shredded + dehydrated kudzu root, carefully hand-harvested fresh from the mountains of Western North Carolina: ready to use as an ingredient for your infusions, stews and brews! “Perched alongside Knoxville’s chestnut ridge sits the Museum of Infinite Outcomes, a museum of conservation. Angela Eastman of @flagmountain.studio uses woody kudzu vines, both whole and split, to weave functional baskets. Angela's baskets are practical for use at market or harvest. Check them out at the Kudzu Culture Fair tomorrow, Thursday, December 1, in Mills River, NC! Alyssa Sacora of @thepatchworkunderground has been learning and teaching alongside Kudzu Culture for 5 years. Pictured are papers, 8-point stars, and weavings Alyssa makes from kudzu and other plant materials. As we approach the inaugural Kudzu Culture Fair this Thursday, Dec. 1, in Mills River, NC, we will be sharing images and words from kudzu creatives who will be sharing their work and wisdom on Thursday.
